Mater Dei 91, Irvine 40--Miles Simon had 30 points, including four three-pointers, and seven rebounds for Mater Dei (2-0). Clay McKnight added 20 points for Mater Dei. Greg Foster had 16 points for Irvine (1-1).

La Habra 79, Sun Valley Village Christian 56--Andrija Kristich had 13 points and 13 rebounds for La Habra (3-0).

Magnolia 54, Buena Park 36--Frank Henderson scored 27 points and Brandon Hearvey added 15 for Magnolia in the first round.

Orange 51, Mission Viejo 32--Pat Harris had 15 points for Orange (1-0). Danny Neal’s strong defensive play helped the Panthers shut out Mission Viejo in the third quarter.
