POINT MUGU STATE PARK : Campsites Closed by Wildfires to Reopen
- Share via
Two campgrounds that had been closed because of fire damage will reopen this week, state park officials said.
Danielson and Sycamore campgrounds in Point Mugu State Park will reopen Wednesday. Sycamore will open at its regular price of $37.50 per night, while Danielson will open at a reduced price of $50 per night, down from $75, park officials said.
Danielson is offering the reduced price because toilets and showers damaged in the fire are still not operating. However, portable toilets have been installed at the campgrounds, officials said.
About 10,000 of the park’s 14,000 acres were scorched in the wildfires that swept through eastern Ventura County.
In all, more than 35,000 acres of state and federal parkland were burned in the region.
