Lackluster Luxor

I was impressed--not blown away, but impressed--by the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas (“Pyramid Power,” Oct. 17). It definitely had the MGM’s mustard-colored stucco lion beat hands down. But as I moved closer, the Pharaoh lost its luster.
Inside, there is a collection of structures with all the charm of a portable science exhibit. Then there are the three brief film-based attractions that are surely the most convoluted, overpublicized, overpriced ($15) attractions in town.
Should you stop at Luxor? Yes--marvel from a distance. But, if you’re looking for a themed casino hotel with the same details and standards as Disneyland, drive a little further down the strip to the Mirage, which remains the one to beat.
