Crespi High first baseman Brad Wright made an oral commitment Tuesday to attend California on a partial baseball scholarship.
Wright, who transferred to Crespi from Agoura after his sophomore season, batted .420 and had a team-high 12 doubles last spring. He also had three home runs and 22 runs batted in while helping the Celts reach the Southern Section Division I semifinals.
Wright (6-foot-1 1/2, 190 pounds) also was recruited by UC Santa Barbara. He said he plans to sign a letter of intent today, the first day of the NCAA’s weeklong early signing period.
