Jobless Rate Hits 2.55%: Japan’s unemployment rate in September was a seasonally adjusted 2.55%, up from 2.53% in August, the Management and Coordination Agency said. This marks the largest percentage of unemployed workers in Japan’s work force since August, 1988, when the rate was 2.60%. The postwar high was 3.10%, in May 1987.
