OFF THE TICKER : A Brew-haha That’s Hardly Pint-Size

LONDON — Bowing to pressure from Britain’s breweries, the government canned a pre-election promise to ensure that every pint of beer served in the nation’s pubs is a full pint of liquid.

Now the government says 5% of a pint can be foam.

The news brought protests from beer drinkers. But a trade group praised the move. Drinkers who think they aren’t getting enough beer, the Brewers Society said, can demand a little extra or take their business elsewhere.
