Orange Coast Wins Water Polo Title

COSTA MESA — Orange Coast won the Orange Empire Conference water polo title with an 11-10 victory over Grossmont Tuesday at OCC.
Shad Wicker scored to break a 10-10 tie for OCC (17-3-1, 6-0 in the conference) with three minutes remaining. Grossmont, ranked fourth in the state, led, 9-8, to start the quarter. OCC’s Nick Wagner and Daniel Mathot scored early in the quarter to give sixth-ranked OCC a 10-9 lead. Grossmont (22-8, 4-1) tied it on a goal by Whett Gaeir with 3:20 left.
Wicker and Ryan Mulholland each scored four goals for OCC.
