Television ratings for the World Series were the second-lowest ever and, for the first time, lower than the NBA finals’ ratings.
CBS’ coverage of the Toronto Blue Jays’ six-game victory over the Philadelphia Phillies averaged a 17.3 rating, according to figures released Tuesday by A.C. Nielsen Co. Last June’s NBA finals between the Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns had a record 17.9 rating.
Hockey
The Mighty Ducks have added KNNS (1360 AM) in Phoenix, Ariz., to their radio network. The station will broadcast 20 games. There are now six stations carrying at least some of the NHL team’s games.
