MCEG Settles With French Bank: The newly reorganized Management Company Entertainment Group settled for $5.9 million from litigation filed against Credit du Nord. MCEG had alleged that the bank improperly secured its interest in MCEG before the Hollywood production firm filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Under the settlement, Credit du Nord is now considered an unsecured creditor. The settlement will include $2.8 million paid to MCEG in cash. The rest of the settlement will involve assigning to MCEG a malpractice claim Credit du Nord has pending against one of its former law firms.
