Countrywide Funding to Lend $2.5 Billion: Pasadena-based Countrywide Funding Corp. will provide $2.5 billion in home mortgages to low-income and moderate-income buyers under an agreement with the Federal National Mortgage Assn. The program doubles the amount of mortgage money to be made available under a similar community-based, 18-month outreach effort that was completed in August. Countrywide said that the $2.5 billion would cover about 25,000 mortgages.
