State of the Art Inc.: The Irvine accounting software developer posted a profit of $1.3 million, or 15 cents a share, for the third quarter. That was a 65% gain from the company’s earnings of $795,000, or 9 cents a share, for the corresponding 1992 period. Revenue increased 46% to $6.7 million from $4.6 million. Profit for the nine-month period rose 26% to $3.9 million, or 43 cents a share, from $3.1 million, or 33 cents a share. Nine-month revenue was up 36% to $19.4 million from $14.3 million.
