COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Golden West Wins Cypress Tournament

Curt Bowman scored six goals as Golden West, the No. 1-ranked team in the state, defeated No. 3 Long Beach, 14-8, Saturday to win the championship of the Cypress College water polo tournament.
Golden West (22-1) never trailed, scoring the first three goals of the game.
Long Beach (21-5) was able to close the gap to 3-2 with 13 seconds left in the first quarter on a two-point goal by Long Beach’s leading scorer Jason Gall, who finished with five points.
But Golden West took a 6-2 lead at halftime and pulled away in the final two quarters.
In the semifinals, Bowman scored three goals in Golden West’s 12-5 victory over Cuesta.
