Sylmar 55, Birmingham 0--Running back Tyrone Crenshaw threw a 51-yard touchdown pass to Dwight Patton on Sylmar’s second play from scrimmage as the host Spartans (5-1-1, 4-0) romped. Crenshaw carried 13 times for 189 yards. Sylmar gained 332 yards rushing.
The Spartans scored 28 second-quarter points to take a 35-0 halftime lead.
Defensive back Robert Camacho recovered a fumble and also scored on an 85-yard punt return. Camacho also made seven of eight extra-point attempts.
Birmingham (3-3-1, 1-2-1) was held to 108 total yards. The fourth quarter was played with a running clock.
