Carpinteria 23, Oak Park 21--Oak Park (3-3-1, 1-1) missed a 38-yard field-goal attempt with four seconds to play at Carpinteria.
Oak Park trailed, 17-0, late in the second quarter but scored on a 55-yard pass interception return by Ryan Garth and a 45-yard pass from Ron Allen to Mark Schwanauer before the intermission.
Oak Park took a 21-17 lead early in the second half on a 13-yard run by Garth. Carpinteria (5-2, 2-0) scored on its next possession, however. Oak Park’s Ryan Johnson rushed for 85 yards in 16 carries.
