FULLERTON : College to Exhibit National AIDS Quilt

Fullerton College will exhibit part of the national AIDS Memorial Quilt from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Student Center.
The showing is being co-sponsored by the community college’s Humanities Division and Health Services department.
Nine 12-foot panels, each commemorating the life of an AIDS victim, will be on display. One of the panels honors Henry Hampton of Laguna Beach, a 43-year-old Fullerton College environmental science and biology instructor, who died Aug. 20, 1984, after a long battle with AIDS.
The national AIDS quilt was begun in 1986 with 1,920 panels displayed in Washington. The quilt has now grown to more than 23,000 panels.
