PORT HUENEME : Suspect Arrested in Market Robbery

Port Hueneme police have arrested a 41-year-old man suspected of robbing a grocery store clerk after other employees recognized him as a customer.
Lane Stuart Sanders was arrested at his home in the Marina Village subdivision of Port Hueneme on suspicion of armed robbery. Sanders was booked into Ventura County Jail early Wednesday with bail set at $20,000.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Ventura County Municipal Court.
The robbery occurred at the Vons store at 727 W. Channel Islands Blvd. on Tuesday about 11:40 p.m. A man confronted a checker while pretending to have a handgun. The clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of money.
