CITY SECTION FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Shinnick Rallies El Camino Real

Chris Shinnick rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns in 21 carries to lead El Camino Real High to a come-from-behind, 35-27 victory over Granada Hills in a North Valley League game Friday night at Chatsworth High.
Granada Hills (0-6, 0-3 in league play) led, 21-14, at the end of the third quarter, but Shinnick scored touchdowns on runs of one and five yards during a 4 1/2-minute stretch to put the Conquistadores ahead for good.
Shinnick’s one-yard score was set up when Michael Cooper intercepted a pass and returned it 34 yards to the Highlander one.
Ryan Venturine’s two-yard quarterback sneak midway through the fourth quarter gave El Camino Real (5-1, 2-1) its final touchdown and a 35-21 lead. Venturine completed three of nine passes for 54 yards.
Brian MacLean, who started in place of injured Jimmy Landress, completed 16 of 27 passes for 259 yards and a touchdown for Granada Hills. Eric Carpenter had 11 receptions for 138 yards.
