Crescenta Valley 48, Hoover 28--Erik LaCom gained 56 yards in eight carries and scored three touchdowns, on a one-yard run and two four-yard runs, to lead Crescenta Valley (5-1, 1-0) at Hoover.
Quarterback David Fielder completed his only two passes for 73 yards, including a 32-yard touchdown strike to Matthew Taras with 4:28 remaining in the first half.
Alan Lau completed 22 of 29 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns for Hoover (0-6, 0-1). Steven Sau caught nine passes for 127 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown.
