Ventura 49, Rio Mesa 21--Quarterback Erik Olson rushed for four touchdowns and gained 41 yards in seven carries to lead the Cougars (5-1, 3-0) at Rio Mesa. Olson scored on runs of four, eight, nine and 14 yards.

He also completed four of six passes for 87 yards, including a 15-yard scoring pass to Alfonso Camarillo. Dwane Mathis led the Cougars with six carries for 90 yards and scored on a 68-yard interception return. John Espinoza gained 108 yards in 13 carries for Rio Mesa (4-2, 1-21).
