NORTH HOLLYWOOD — A 42-year-old unemployed man with a history of spousal abuse stabbed his wife to death in the family’s North Hollywood home Thursday, Los Angeles police said.
The couple, whose two children were in school at the time of the killing, had been married 15 years, Sgt. Fred Lopez said.
When police arrived at the family’s house about 10 a.m. in the 10900 block of Lemay Street, they found the body of Marina Herrera, 37, on the kitchen floor with several stab wounds in the chest, Lopez said.
Detectives believe that Herrera was killed by her husband, Balomero Banuelos, 42, who has a history of wife-beating, Lopez said. He is being sought by police, Lopez said.
