About 100 artists will exhibit and sell their works this weekend at the 31st annual Art for Fun(D)s Sake at the Palos Verdes Art Center.
Works will include paintings, handcrafted jewelry, ceramics, weaving, metal sculpture, woodworking and photography.
Hermosa Beach artist Jan Davidson will sell color lithographs, serigraphs, T-shirts and other items. Her most recent work depicts scenes of Paris, Central Park in New York, San Francisco and Hawaii.
Watercolor artists Pat Dispenziere, Don Murphy and Lindy Bossler will also display their works, along with several photographers, including Tom Mayberry and Cathy Archuleta.
Art at Your Fingertips, a workshop for children, will provide budding artists a chance to make kaleidoscopes, hats, garlands, banners, paper “flying machines” a la Leonardo da Vinci and other pieces.
Several musicians, including jazz and classical guitarist Richard Hastings, will be on hand.
Proceeds from the booth rentals and commissions from the art sales will benefit exhibitions and education programs at the Palos Verdes Art Center, which is run by the nonprofit Palos Verdes Community Arts Assn. Last year $15,000 was raised at the fair. The goal is $20,000 this year.
