The body of a 17-year-old boy was found early Tuesday morning in a vehicle outside a convenience store, said Glendale police.
The juvenile, a Los Angeles resident, had been shot in the upper torso. He was pronounced dead at Glendale Memorial Hospital at 1:21 a.m., said Sgt. Lief Nicolaisen. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
Also in the car was an 18-year-old man who had been shot in the abdomen. He was taken to a hospital where he is in critical condition, Nicolaisen said. The name of this Los Angeles man was also being withheld by police.
Investigators believe the incident could be gang-related, Nicolaisen said.
Police found the victims after responding to a 911 call about “men bleeding in a car at the 7-Eleven store at Pacific Avenue and Colorado Street,” Nicolaisen said.
Three minutes earlier, police had received a 911 call about shots fired about two blocks away from where the car was found. Investigators have yet to determine whether the two calls are related.
