Antelope Valley 22, Mt. San Jacinto 17--Carl Taylor sacked Mt. San Jacinto’s Luke Gross on fourth down from the Marauders’ seven-yard line late in the fourth quarter at Mt. San Jacinto.
The Eagles scored 17 points in the fourth quarter to take a 17-16 lead, but Antelope Valley’s Mike Marsh scored on a seven-yard run with less than five minutes remaining, capping a 65-yard drive.
The Marauders (2-2, 1-0) gained 275 yards rushing, led by quarterback Todd Fink, who gained 69 in 12 carries. Marsh gained 56 yards in nine carries.
Antelope Valley’s Muhammad McDonald scored on a 31-yard run late in the first quarter. Fink threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Steve Turner midway though the third quarter and Russell Gordon added a 27-yard field goal before Mt. San Jacinto (0-4, 0-1) came back.
