HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Hernandez Twins Team Up to Lead Unbeaten L.A. Baptist

Quarterback Zack Hernandez ran for one touchdown and threw for two more to lead unbeaten L.A. Baptist High to a 43-18 victory over St. Bonaventure in a nonleague game Saturday night at Ventura High.
Hernandez connected with his twin brother, Matt Hernandez, for a 47-yard scoring pass in the fourth quarter. Matt Hernandez also scored on a three-yard run in the first quarter to cap a 13-play, 80-yard drive and give L.A. Baptist (5-0) a 7-3 lead.
Zack Hernandez, who completed 17 of 25 passes for 231 yards, combined with Dana Berg, who had four catches for 45 yards, for a 16-yard touchdown early in the second quarter. Zack Hernandez scored on a five-yard run to give the Knights a 21-11 halftime lead.
L.A. Baptist wide receiver Jim Romero ran 25 yards on a reverse for the only score in the third quarter and the Knights put the game out of reach when the twins combined on their long scoring pass and Berg returned a kickoff 85 yards.
St. Bonaventure (3-2) opened the scoring on a 30-yard field goal by Andrew Montenegro.
