Zeier Sets SEC Passing Mark: 544 Yards

ATHENS, Ga. — Eric Zeier passed for an Southeastern Conference-record 544 yards and four touchdowns as Georgia beat Southern Mississippi, 54-24.
Zeier’s scoring pass plays covered 38 and 60 yards to Brice Hunter, 51 yards to Hason Graham and 10 to Terrell Davis.
The victory ended a two-game losing streak for the Bulldogs (2-4). It was the third loss in a row for Southern Mississippi (1-4).
Zeier, who completed 30 of 47 passes, broke the SEC record of 484 set by Alabama’s Scott Hunter against Auburn in 1969. He also broke the Georgia record of 407, set by Larry Rakestraw against Miami in 1963.
