Hacienda Heights : Fund-Raiser for Library
- Share via
In the wake of severe county budget cuts, a Hacienda Heights booster group is raising money for its branch library by selling a discount coupon book.
The Friends of Hacienda Heights Branch Library is offering “Entertainment ‘94,” a book of coupons that offers discounts at restaurants, hotels, movies and special events.
The $38 price can be quickly recouped by using the coupons, said Norma Forgone, fund-raising chairwoman.
Officials said the voucher books will be sold by library staff members over the counter, and all profits will be returned to the library, which has seen its book budget fall from more than $100,000 to zero in two years.
