La Habra Man Shot in Yard by Intruder

LA HABRA — A 28-year-old man who was sitting in his front yard in the 300 block of Grace Avenue was shot in the back early Sunday morning by an intruder who fled on foot, police reported.
The gunshot victim, Jorge M. Vasquez, was rushed to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he is listed in critical condition, officers reported.
Sgt. Perry Miller said no motive is known for the 1:45 a.m. shooting. He said Vasquez has no connection with any gangs, and no confrontation or argument occurred.
“The victim was sitting in the front yard, drinking a beer with a couple of other people when this happened,” Miller said. He said the gunman fired about six shots, one of which struck Vasquez.
