In another Western State Conference game:
Valley 33, Compton 20--Sophomore Irving Carter rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns in 19 carries to keep host Valley unbeaten. The Monarchs are 3-0, 2-0 in conference play.
Carter scored on a 17-yard touchdown run to put Valley ahead, 6-0, midway through the first quarter, capping a 52-yard drive. The 224-pound Carter had 112 yards in the first half.
Valley quarterback Sean Fitzgerald completed 20 of 31 passes for 300 yards, including a 33-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jimmy Roskowick with 27 seconds to play in the first half, putting the Monarchs ahead 20-12.
Fitzgerald also rushed for a one-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
Darryl Nolan made second-quarter touchdown catches of 35 and 12 yards from quarterback Tyrone Phillips for Compton (1-2, 1-1). Nolan had 10 catches for 160 yards and Phillips completed 22 of 42 for 265 yards.
Roskowick caught three passes for 72 yards and Gary Hyman also caught three for 69 yards. Vince Lampkin added 42 yards receiving on four catches for Valley.
