The problems dogging Iowa State worsened when fullback Chris Ulrich was arrested for drunk driving.
Coach Jim Walden temporarily suspended Ulrich after looking into the incident, which happened two days before the Cyclones’ Big Eight Conference opener against Oklahoma.
Ulrich’s arrest followed the disclosure earlier in the week that Iowa State quarterback Bob Utter faces a paternity suit over child support payments for a 14-month-old girl.
