Former Lottery Director Convicted of Fraud Charges

CHARLESTON, W. Va. — The former West Virginia Lottery director has been convicted of federal corruption charges.
Butch Bryan, 59, was convicted Friday of wire fraud, mail fraud, lying to a federal grand jury and insider trading.
Prosecutors alleged that Bryan steered an advertising contract to a Parkersburg, W. Va., firm and rigged bids so a Bozeman, Mont., company he owned stock in would win a contract to expand a video lottery statewide.
