Birdseed Sale--The Sea & Sage chapter of the National Audubon Society is holding a birdseed sale.
The seed mixes are of high quality and are suited to attracting birds found locally.
A 20-pound bag of premium wild-bird seed mix is $9, a 20-pound bag of black-oil sunflower seed mix is $15 and a 10-pound bag of the sunflower mix is $8.
Orders must be prepaid and received by Oct. 11. They can be picked up on Oct. 23 between noon and 4 p.m. at the chapter’s Audubon House.
Buyers should send orders, with checks made payable to Sea & Sage Audubon Society, to Bird Seed Sale, Sea & Sage Audubon, 3589 Campus Drive, Irvine, Calif. 92715.

Wetlands Tours--Guided public tours of the Bolsa Chica wetlands will be held Saturday morning. The tours, sponsored by Amigos de Bolsa Chica, will depart from the wetlands’ ecological reserve every 20 minutes beginning at 9 a.m. The last tour will depart at 10:30 a.m.
The wetlands are home to many bird species, including loons, terns, egrets, ducks and other waterfowl.
Those who would like to take the tour are asked to meet at the ecological reserve on Pacific Coast Highway about half a mile south of Warner Avenue, across from Bolsa Chica State Beach.
Bay Tours--A guided tour of the Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve will also be offered Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m.
The tour is free and lasts about 2 1/2 hours.
Those who would like to participate are asked to meet at Shellmaker Island off Backbay Drive in Newport Beach. For more information, call (714) 640-6746.
