I can certainly understand Mia Farrow’s woman-scorned anger at Woody Allen when she says she regrets the day she ever met him (Film Clips, Sept. 5).
But I wonder if she hasn’t lost sight of one important point: Before she hooked up with Allen, she was languishing in such films as “The Haunting of Julia,” “Avalanche” and “Hurricane.” After she met him, she was allowed to shine in a varied selection of tailor-made roles in such films as “Broadway Danny Rose,” “Hannah and Her Sisters” and “The Purple Rose of Cairo.”
I hope, in time, she’ll be able to acknowledge the credit Allen deserves in helping to give her back her career.
