HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : First-Half Barrage Allows No. 1 Newbury Park to Coast, 43-7

Quarterback Keith Smith completed 24 of 41 passes for 321 yards and running backs Tony Robertson and Albert Reddick each scored two touchdowns to lead Newbury Park High to a 43-7 victory over San Marcos on Friday night in a nonleague game at San Marcos.
Newbury Park (2-0), ranked No. 1 in The Times’ regional poll, scored on its first three possessions and took a 37-0 lead.
Robertson, who gained 57 yards in six carries, scored on runs of three and 12 yards. Reddick added scoring runs of 10 and 12 yards, and Rich Adams contributed a one-yard touchdown run.
Smith, who threw two interceptions, scored on a one-yard keeper.
He also connected with his favorite target, wide receiver Leodes Van Buren, 11 times for 151 yards.
The Royals averted a shutout when Garo Ohanian ran 10 yards midway through the fourth quarter.
The Panthers have outscored two opponents, 116-13.
