N. Ireland Catholic Slain in Front of Children

BELFAST, Northern Ireland — Irish Republican Army gunmen shot and killed a Roman Catholic trucker in front of his children, police said Thursday.
The IRA, battling to oust Britain from Northern Ireland, said it killed Adrian McGovern on Wednesday night because he delivered supplies to army and police bases.
Neighbors said they found three of McGovern’s children clad in their pajamas and crying over his dead body beside the front door of their home near Lisburn.
McGovern was the 47th victim this year of the conflict in Northern Ireland.
