LAGUNA NIGUEL — A father who found his 1-year-old son unconscious in the family’s spa Thursday saved him with the help of a 911 dispatcher, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Fire Department said.
The infant fell into the spa about 5:25 p.m. in the 29300 block of Avocet Lane, fire spokeswoman Emmy Day said.
“The father pulled him out, but he was not breathing,” Day said, “so he called 911. Kathy Kelly was on duty and she instructed him how to use (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) over the phone and got the child breathing again.”
Paramedics arrived and took the boy to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, where he was listed in good condition and was scheduled to undergo precautionary tests this morning, Day said.
