The following are selected entries from the crime logs of local law enforcement agencies between Aug. 30 and Sept. 5:
Glendale
West Cerritos Avenue, 400 block--Opening a combination safe, thieves stole $2,000 from a train station office Aug. 30 or 31.
Cleveland Road, 1400 block--Three guns, valued at $1,100, were missing from a man’s residence in a theft discovered Aug. 31.
East Acacia Avenue, 1000 block--Thieves forced open a rear bedroom window and stole a gun, jewelry, VCR, camera and telephone, valued together at more than $3,100, between 11:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 31.
Pennsylvania Avenue, 4800 block--Thieves pried off the back panel of a residential air-conditioning unit to steal the motor, valued at $1,500, in a theft discovered Sept. 1.
Honolulu Avenue, 2500 block--Thieves broke a window and stole a bicycle and tires, valued together at $3,600, from a bike shop at 12:15 a.m. Sept. 1.
Altura Avenue, 3200 block--Prying open a carport storage closet, thieves stole tools and train parts, valued together at $4,700, at 3 a.m. Sept. 1.
North Verdugo Road, 3400 block--Thieves pried open a steel gate and the front door of a gun shop to steal an unknown number of guns at 3:59 a.m. Sept. 1.
Mission Road, 300 block--Entering through an unlocked window, thieves ransacked the office of an alcohol- and drug-rehabilitation center and stole $3,550 between 5 and 11:05 p.m. Sept. 1.
South Glendale Avenue, 1200 block--Thieves entered an office, tied up a man working late and stole business machines, valued at $6,020, at 12:20 a.m. Sept. 2.
West Lexingtion Drive, 400 block--Thieves forced open a temporary plywood security door and stole video equipment, compact discs and a player, valued together at $2,350, between 12:45 and 5 p.m. Sept. 2.
West Windsor Road, 300 block--Smashing a front window, thieves entered a Salvation Army office and stole a large stuffed animal and an unknown amount of bread and canned food on Sept. 3 or 4.
South Glendale Avenue, 400 block--Thieves entered a camera store through an unlocked rear window and stole $200 and camera equipment of unknown value on Sept. 3 or 4.
San Fernando Road, 5100 block--Possibly cutting a lock to enter a business, thieves stole $15,500 between 1 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 5.
East Maple Street, 700 block--Thieves climbed a railing to reach a balcony and entered a private residence, stealing jewelry, a radio and a telephone, valued together at $1,620, between 10 and 10:30 p.m. Sept. 5.
Atwater Village
Griffith View Drive, 3700 block--Thieves ransacked a residence, stealing video equipment and a radio, valued together at $3,500, at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 31.
Los Feliz Boulevard, 2700 block--Approaching from the rear of a fastfood restaurant, a thief with a gun demanded entry and stole $4,224 at 11:50 p.m. Aug. 31.
San Fernando Road, 3100 block--Thieves used bolt cutters to break into a storage shed and steal property, valued at $17,897, on Sept. 3 or 4.
Eagle Rock
Colorado Boulevard, 2600 block--A thief with a gun stole $50 from a fastfood restaurant at 12:15 a.m. Aug. 31.
Wiota Street, 4700 block--Entering through a bedroom window, thieves ransacked a private residence and stole jewelry and video equipment, valued together at $4,382, between 2:30 and 5:45 p.m. Aug. 31.
Eagledale Avenue, 5200 block--Thieves smashed the front window of a private residence and stole a radio and tools, valued together at $5,125, between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Sept. 1.
Fair Park Avenue, 2100 block--Thieves stole video equipment and jewelry, valued together at $3,500, between 10:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sept. 1.
Maemurray Drive, 5400 block--Prying open a rear door, thieves ransacked a residence and stole a gun and video equipment, valued together at $1,285, between 9 and 11:15 a.m. Sept. 2.
Glen Iris Avenue, 4900 block--Thieves stole equipment and tools, valued together at $1,230, from a garage/carport between 11 and 11:45 a.m. Sept. 2.
Colorado Boulevard and Ellenwood Drive--After asking a man for a light, thieves with a knife stole $140 from him at 11:55 p.m. Sept. 4.
Echo Park
Lobdell Place, 1800 block--Thieves used a bolt cutter to enter a garage and steal tools, valued at $7,250, on Sept. 2 or 3.
Whitmore Avenue, 2100 block--Acting
as though they had a gun, thieves confronted a man and stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $122, at 1:30 a.m. Sept. 3.
Elysian Park Avenue and Sunset Boulevard-- Pointing guns at a man’s neck and head, thieves stole his car at 11:50 p.m. Sept. 4.
Sunset Boulevard and Beaudry Avenue--Thieves drove up next to a man waiting for a red light, then left their car and stole credit cards and $220 at gunpoint at 12:30 a.m. Sept. 5.
Glassell Park
North Figueroa Street, 3300 block--Vandals stacked cardboard against the door of a junior high school cafeteria and set it on fire between 8 and 8:15 p.m. Aug. 31.
Eagle Rock Boulevard, 3400 block--Thieves cut the locks on a garment factory and pried open the door to steal industrial equipment, valued at $18,000, between 10:45 and 11:15 p.m. Sept. 1.
North Figueroa Street, 2800 block--After smashing an opening in a wall with a hammer, thieves tunneled into a business and stole industrial equipment, valued at $9,000, at 12:10 a.m. Sept. 2.
North Figueroa Street, 3300 block--A junior high school suffered damage of unknown value when a trash can fire set by vandals spread to a nearby bungalow at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 4.
Highland Park
Monte Vista Street, 5400 block--Thieves pried open the locks to three classrooms, then ransacked them on Aug. 30 or 31.
Cooper Avenue, 900 block--Thieves pried open the side window of a residence and stole video equipment and a radio, valued together at $1,065, between 12:30 and 4 p.m. Aug. 31.
Almaden Drive, 5100 block--Thieves entered an unlocked garage and stole tools, valued at $1,575, on Sept. 2 or 3.
York Boulevard, 6300 block--A thief brought merchandise to the register of a drug store, brandished a gun and stole $1,000 at 7:40 p.m. Sept. 3.
North Figueroa Street, 5400 block--A thief acting as though he had a gun jumped over the counter of a business and stole $300 at 5:25 a.m. Sept. 4.
York Boulevard, 5600 block--After smashing a bathroom window, thieves entered a residence and stole a TV and video equipment, valued together at $1,335, between 6 and 8 p.m. Sept. 5.
Los Feliz
Hollywood Boulevard, 4600 block--Thieves entered a locked and secured office and stole business machines and a TV, valued together at $1,512, on Aug. 30 or 31.
Hillhurst Avenue, 2100 block--After prying open the front door of a fast-food restaurant, thieves stole industrial equipment, valued at $2,500, on Aug. 30 or 31.
Sunset Boulevard, 4600 block--Thieves stole camera equipment and other property, valued together at $815, from a hospital/medical facility on Aug. 31 or Sept. 1.
Rodney Drive, 2000 block--Approaching a man from the rear, thieves with a gun ordered him out of his car and stole $755 at 6:50 a.m. Sept. 2.
North Vermont Avenue, 1500 block--A thief robbed a bank of $116 at gunpoint, then escaped in the cab he had hired to take him there at 1:05 p.m. Sept. 4.
Mount Washington
Terrace 49, 700 block--Thieves entered an open garage and stole tools, valued at $1,030, between Sept. 2 and 5.
Avenue 38, 300 block--Thieves with knives came up behind a delivery person and stole pizza and $100 at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 2.
Silver Lake
Reservoir Street, 2900 block--Thieves forced open the rear window of a residence and stole video equipment and a radio, valued together at $1,100, between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Sept. 2.
Glendale Boulevard, 2200 block--Camera and video equipment were stolen from a residence between 1:15 and 5 p.m. Sept. 2.
