New Reader Finds a Lot to Like About Downey

I just want to express my admiration of columnist Mike Downey.

I am a fairly new resident to Southern California after living most of my life in the Bay Area. I became an L.A. Times reader, and, being the only female in an all-male household, became involved in sports.

I enjoy Mr. Downey’s writings so much, his insight, his sense of humor and his manner of expressing himself. And this is the first time I have ever written a fan letter to a newspaper.
