Hershiser Might Be a Hit in the Outfield

The Dodgers ought to seriously consider making Orel Hershiser into an outfielder. He is clearly the team’s most imaginative and “thinking” hitter and well may be its most consistent. Orel will not always hit .400 as he is now, but imagine that bat--and mind--in the lineup every day.

My son-in-law came up with another possibility for Orel. When he can’t pitch effectively any more (could be soon), why not make him the manager? He is a keen analyst of some of the team’s major problems.
