Studying the Obvious

It comes as no surprise that the grand jury recommends “the Board of Supervisors take back the management of the county and exercise prudence when allocating the ever-diminishing assets for operating county government.”
It seems odd that this Board of Supervisors believes that the best way to cut costs means taking away services from the very customers who pay for the services--not exactly a good management practice, nor prudent.
The mismanagement I’m referring to is the closure of county offices on Fridays. It’s unfortunate that the grand jury should have to research and issue reports on the things that most people consider obvious. The Board of Supervisors definitely falls short of exercising prudent judgment, when its members remove the very services they are entrusted to manage.
