BURBANK : Mayor Plans Weekly Call-In TV Show

Burbank Mayor George Battey Jr., head of a town known as a media center, may soon have his own television show.
Battey said he is planning a weekly, 30-minute television show starting in August called “Ask the Mayor.”
“People want to participate, they want to feel they’re a part of the process,” Battey said. “In order to accomplish that I feel people are questioning more than they used to. I feel government has to be more responsive.”
The details are still being worked out, but Battey said the first show could air the first Wednesday of August at 7 p.m. City officials said the show is tentatively planned to be broadcast on Channel 21, the Sammons Communications public access channel in Burbank.
