Tanker in Mexico Leaked Acid, Salvage Crew Says

MEXICO CITY — Salvage workers hired to unload cargo from a beached tanker said Tuesday that it leaked 4,000 tons of sulfuric acid after being tipped on its side by Hurricane Calvin last week.
The 10,033-ton Norwegian-flagged Betula has been lodged on a beach off the Michoacan state after becoming incapacitated while unloading the acid.
