WASHINGTON — At his last news conference, President Clinton admired a reporter’s bright tie on camera and later wound up wearing it. On Friday, he came sporting his own vivid tie and made it clear he did not want to swap.
Clinton’s tie--adorned with colorful images of children--was admired by CNN reporter Wolf Blitzer. Blitzer interrupted his own question to Clinton to say: “By the way, that’s a very nice tie.”
“This was designed by a 12-year-old. It’s a Save the Children tie,” Clinton said. “If it weren’t a gift, I would give it to you.”
