Right Start Reports 26% Jump in Profits

Right Start Inc., a Westlake Village children’s products company, said acquiring Children’s Wear Digest helped boost its profits 26% for fiscal 1993 on a 55% increase in revenue.
Right Start earned $1 million in the year that ended May 26, compared with $820,000 a year earlier. Revenue rose to $42.3 million from $27.4 million.
During the year, Right Start also acquired The Weebok Catalog featuring Reebok International’s line of children’s apparel and footwear. Right Start also opened two more retail stores, giving the company a total of three retail outlets.
“Our goals for fiscal 1994 are to continue growing our current catalogues, complete another acquisition of a children’s catalogue and expand our retail operations,” said Lenny Targon, Right Start’s chief executive.
