* Richard Nixon: The former President, now 80, lives in Park Ridge, N.J., and has tried to emerge from the shadow of Watergate through his writings. A prolific author, he has written his memoirs and several books on U.S. foreign policy. Most recently, as honorary chairman of the Fund for Democracy and Development, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, he has devoted his time to coaxing Western governments and businesses to invest in former Communist bloc countries.
* Tricia and Edward Finch Cox: Nixon’s older daughter and her husband live in Manhattan. Edward, the scion of a prominent New York family, is a lawyer. They have one son, Christopher Nixon, 14. Tricia was once called by her sister the “Howard Hughes of the White House” and has lived up to that characterization by staying out of the public eye as much as possible.
* Julie and David Eisenhower: Nixon’s second daughter and her husband live with their three children, Jennie, 15, Melanie, 10, and Alex Richard, 12, in Berwyn, Pa., a suburb of Philadelphia. They have spent much of their time in recent years writing about the lives of their famous relatives. David, a military historian and grandson of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, has written extensively on his grandfather’s military exploits as the Allied commander during World War II. In 1986, Julie published a biography of her mother called “Pat Nixon: The Untold Story.”
