Letter From Ex-Chairman

* I am responding to a letter (Sunday, June 20) by Rex D. Gaede, who was represented in the paper as chairman of the Orange County Mental Health Advisory Board.
I have been the chairman of the Orange County Mental Health Board (prior to realignment called the Orange County Mental Health Advisory Board) since Jan. 1. I have been a member of the board since January, 1991. At no time in the 2 1/2-year period do I recall Mr. Gaede as being a member of the organization.
The Mental Health Board has an ad hoc committee reviewing the grand jury report on children and youth services at this time and will be providing input to the mental health director. In that regard, Mr. Gaede’s letter represents his opinion only, not that of the board.
