EAST LOS ANGELES : Chicano Art Deals With AIDS Toll

An exhibit of Chicano art about AIDS and its toll on Latinos will be on display through Saturday at Self Help Graphics’ Galeria Otra Vez.
The display features the work of 16 Colorado artists that expresses the urgency of taking precautions against the spread of HIV urges Latinos to deal realistically with AIDS and points out the human suffering and loss brought about by the fatal disease.
The exhibit was curated by University of Colorado Prof. George Rivera and Prof. Aileen Lucero of Metropolitan State College in Denver.
Galeria Otra Vez is at 3802 Brooklyn Ave. The free exhibit can be viewed Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
