DARTH DOLE? Calling from his plane, Senate Minority Leader Bob Dole (R-Kan.) insisted he is culturally hip--and never asked an aide: “Who the heck is Darth Vader?” A Capitol Hill newsletter had claimed he did, after an aide suggested it would be fun for Dole to appear on NBC-TV’s “Tonight Show” dressed as the black-caped “Star Wars” villain. (Dole’s occasional dark attacks on Democrats and fellow Republicans make some think he is Darth Vader, you see.) We believe you, senator, but: Who was Luke Skywalker’s father?
