Coroner’s officials Sunday identified two people killed in a storm-related accident in Lake Forest on Saturday as Aaron Foster and Heather Strench, both teen-agers from Laguna Niguel.
Foster, 17, and Strench, 16, were passengers in a Dodge Colt whose driver lost control of the vehicle. It collided with two other cars on El Toro Road near Northcrest Drive in heavy rain Saturday afternoon, a coroner’s deputy said.
According to sheriff’s officials, the two other cars were traveling east on El Toro Road before the collision. The drivers of those cars and the driver of the westbound Colt all suffered injuries ranging from critical to minor, said Sheriff’s Lt. William Francis. Their names and conditions were not available Sunday.
Francis said officials were still investigating.
Saturday’s storm, which authorities said caused at least 20 accidents on county streets and freeways, brought Santa Ana 1.26 inches of rain, a record for the date.
