Psychologist’s License Lifted
The license of a South Pasadena psychologist has been suspended by the state Board of Psychology amid allegations of sexual misconduct with six children, all former patients.
John A. Bayless, 63, was ordered May 14 to stop practicing psychology, and the board filed formal accusations May 28 with the state.
But a board hearing will be postponed pending the outcome of two criminal investigations in Kern and Los Angeles counties, state Deputy Atty. Gen. Robert Miller said. No criminal charges have been filed since the allegations surfaced in January, 1992, Miller said.
