Venice Ducks

The nonsense surrounding the diseased ducks in Venice is a classic example of the “lunatic fringe” impeding sound wildlife management techniques (“Venice Rallies ‘Round Ducks; Reprieve Won,” May 25). The birds must be destroyed to protect millions of waterfowl that pass each year along the Pacific flyway. But once again it will be the wildlife that suffer.
Judge Hiroshi Fujisaki should be removed from the bench for allowing himself to be influenced into making a clearly bad decision for the sake of political expediency.
